Call of Duty is so famous a title that half the results on googling “cod” points to it. Hardcore gamers have always had a thing for COD and that is why Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies aims to satisfy them on the go.

The gameplay is very much similar to the original PC hit with shoot to kill strategy. You’re stuck in a mansion filled with zombies and your last partner just turned into one of them. Show no mercy and escape!

You have a gun and 500 points to start with, when zombies start pouring down. Open fire with the classic pistol, powerful shotguns, continuous machine guns or even a cruel turret; when nothing seems available, go old school with the ever-dependable kitchen knife. Kill their brains and you are awarded with points. Use points to buy ammo, upgrade weapons and to open doors!

Yeah, you heard it right. Each room is sealed and you have to kill and earn a threshold point before you can open doors and proceed. Just like Call of Duty or any other FPS games for that matter, you have certain objectives to complete to make your escape possible. Do whatever it takes to survive and get the hell out of there.

Controls are a joystick, shoot, reload, knife and swap buttons while occassional actions require you to tap the hand icon. They work perfectly fine including the swipe to look around.

The animations are close to the console version and the sound effects are great. Red-eyed wolves charging towards you, close zombie encounters and surprise attacks literally gets your heart pumping. The awesome comic-themed interface, a variety of characters to play as and three different difficulty modes help it gain the authentic feel. While the game is in no way falls short of the original, the 6.99 tag looks fine.
